It was not for commercial profit, nor was it for breaking the boundaries of technology – It was purely to fulfill a boys every dream, to have a bicycle that can fly. Second to having a sweet date to the school prom.
This latest innovation was developed by several Czech companies. In a video posted on YouTube, it shows a dummy strapped on to the bike-copter (?) and managed to take off for a few seconds around the warehouse before landing safely.
If you’re dreaming of actually buying this then it might be a long way to go before it is actually feasible. The bike is too bulky and just powered by 6-battery powered motors – this may not be enough to carry a human over longer distances. Plus, there’s no leg room for someone to actually pedal.
Developers of the bike believe that they may be able to produce a feasible flying bicycle by the end of this year.
